Slava technopark resident doubled production of high-temperature superconductors

The company's products are used in a variety of industries: traditional electric power, aircraft and instrumentation, IT, industry, and even in space.

S-Innovations, a resident of the Slava technopark, has doubled the production of high-temperature superconductors (HTSCs). This year, the enterprise won a grant from the Moscow Government for patenting developments in Russia and received a patent for a flexible high-temperature superconductor and a method for producing it.

“In the context of foreign restrictions, we actively support the innovative sector of the capital's economy. Thus, subsidizing the patenting of inventions and utility models turned out to be one of our most demanded support measures. To date, 172 applications have been approved. Applications will continue until December 1 on the i.moscow platform,” said Alexei Fursin, head of the Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovative Development of the City of Moscow.

The company's products are used in a variety of industries: traditional electric power, aircraft and instrumentation, IT, industry, and even in space. HTS wires are used for power cables, motors, generators, energy storage devices, magnetic systems and space propulsion. The unique magnetic properties of superconductors make it possible to transmit electricity without resistance, which makes devices equipped with them more powerful, smaller and more economical.

Previously, the company took advantage of other support measures. In 2020, the enterprise received a grant from the Moscow Innovation Cluster Foundation in the amount of 8.4 million rubles for the implementation of a comprehensive innovative project "Development of the production of second-generation high-temperature superconductors (HTSC), increasing the market share in the international market." His task was to improve production technologies by reducing the size and weight of the product. The grant made it possible to offset the 2020 costs for the purchase of equipment. During the implementation of the project, the company became the winner of the Technological Breakthrough 2021 and Exporter of the Year (Moscow) awards.
